Favorite Photo from September

Abstract water photography

I had a difficult time choosing a favorite photo from September, but I finally settled on this one. I chose this photo as it is the one I had envisioned before I even went to Ely. I had hoped to find some rocks in the shade with fall colors reflecting in the water. Objects in the shade take on a blue cast and I wanted to contrast that blue with the yellow of aspen leaves. I had planned to make the photo a long exposure to get the silky texture on the water. So I was very pleased when I saw exactly what I was looking for.
